“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller
Golden: One city, countless adventures.
I recently attended one of the most prestigious conferences for creatives, bloggers, and influencers. The main focus of such a conference is to network. I talked so much about Golden and its many opportunities for adventures. I did it as I was introducing myself, my blog, and my social media channels. These daring adventures women got caught on my Golden, Colorado post.
They wanted to know more, and I obliged. To say I was proud of myself as a travel journalist is an understatement.
Why travel to Golden? Check part 1 here and keep reading for the rest of my adventure.
Do you believe in dinosaurs? Duh! They existed and left their mark in Golden. If you have kids and want to teach them hands-on about them head to Golden.
Dinosaur Ridge area is one of the world’s most famous dinosaur fossil spots. At this locality, you will explore some of the most prominent paleontological and geological sites in the west area.
Dinosaur Ridge offers self-guided tours and guided tours with an expert. They will explain in deep detail and broaden your knowledge about these exquisite creatures.
If you choose to do a self-guided tour, you can go at your own pace. The trail is paved. The tour lasts about half an hour to 45-minutes, and it is an easy hike. If you have small kids, you can rent strollers at the souvenir store and other cool dinosaurs stuff.
Did you know? More than 200,000 people visit Dinosaur Ridge per year.
Around a minute in the car up to the right from the dinosaur ridge souvenir store, you will find a cool rock formation. It is like a cave, and from there the view is breathtaking. Definitely, a non-miss spot.
Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum
Learning about minerals, crystals, and rock formations and see them in real life is fascinating. The museum has terrific specimens. Each of them has a descriptive caption. You will find gold, silver, gems, minerals, mining-artifacts, fossils, and a lot more.
The museum is home to one of the state’s two Goodwill moon rocks, which were collected during the Apollo 17 mission.
Do you know? It has five-start in Google Reviews.
Golden is home of Buffalo Bills’ grave.
Talking about history and cool stuff. What do you know of the American scout, bison hunter, and showman Buffalo Bill?
Most of us had heard about Buffalo Bills. As soon as I got in the museum and started reading and seeing all the historical displays, I realized how little I knew about that him. I am a history lover. My goal is not only to travel to the 50 states but to learn about America history. The museum has 4-5 rooms packed with history of the legacy of Buffalo Bill. My family and I learned much interesting information about him. Did you know he was a women’s rights advocate? He was also an avid traveler. Several things that belonged to him are being displayed as well as original flyers of his company tours.
After going through the museum, we headed outside to look for his grave. It was a short hike, and the trail is surrounded by trees. Take the moment just to feel the breeze and contemplate the scenery. The view from Lookout mountain is specular. The peace you feel is worth the drive or the flight.
Next to him, his wife and daughter are buried. The graveyard has a fantastic view.
Feel free to send me a message to plan your visit to Golden. I would be happy to help you.

Origin Hotel Red Rocks
This stylish, modern, and artistry hotel is a good reason to go to Golden.
They came with a great idea; a camping tent for the kids in the bedroom! While the adults are having fun in the huge bed the kids are playing and minding their own business. Isn’t that the best idea ever?
My kids were in the tent and watching t.v. from there. The hotel is clean, beds are comfy, and it welcomes little ones as well as big ones.
The Nomad Taqueria is inside the hotel. You don’t need to go far to get drinks and yummy food. They have a happy hour and a delicious mojito.
I hope I motivated you to visit Golden and to travel more. Until next time,
